The vast beauty of the Mad River Valley surrounded by the Green Mountains is the perfect setting for river exploration, bird watching opportunities, and many hikes offered during this festival. Visitors of all ages and skill levels will find an event or activity that will make their time at the festival the most fun they have had in the open air.

The Festival of the Great Outdoors is a chance for families to discover and even educate themselves on the many wonders that are offered in the great outdoors, an opportunity for the trained athlete to bring his/her skill to another level, and the novice to unearth the passion that lies within to explore more.
